The Satriani Line of Vox Pedals

Joe Satriani is one of the most influential guitarists of this generation. Vox has long been known as one of the industry leaders in amps and guitar distortion accessories. It is no wonder then, that when these two giants of the guitar world collaborated on the Satriani signature line of distortion pedals, the results where phenomenal. The idea behind this series of pedals was to provide versatile, proffesional quality pedals that could provide tones and distortions for both the casual and hardore guitarist, while simultaneously capturing the essence of a variety of musicals styles, from high gain modern rock to blues tones with a more subtle distortion.

In order to accomplish this ambitious goal, Vox enlisted the services of Joe Satriani, and wisely so. Satriani's unique style and decades of experience was not put to waste. His hands on involvement was essential to the project, and after more than a full of year of painstaking work, both from Satriani and the Vox team, the Satchurator was born. The "Little Red Box" is everything it was meant to be and more. Following in it's footsteps shortly after was the Time Machine. Calling it a "delay pedal" would be a serious injustice. Once again, the hard work done by Vox and Satriani was more than worthwhile, and once again the versatility and quality of this pedal is unmatched. The bottom line? Satriani himself uses these pedals on stage. You can't get a much better endorsement for a product than that.

The Vox Satchurator

Built to Joe Satriani's exact specifications, the Satchurator is any guitarists dream. Harnessing the unique sounds of one of modern guitar's greatest icons was no easy task. Doing so for a commercial product that requires functionality and affordability was quite an impressive accomplishment. The Satchurator is a multi-functional distortion pedal with a high degree of customizability. The three analog dials on the top of the box are used to control gain, tone and volume. By adjusting these settings to their liking, the user can achieve almost any tone. Super crunchy power chords, clearly audible finger tapping, lightly distorted mellow blues scales, and classic "take that society" solos are all easily made available with a few turns of a dial. Normally, high gain means high noise. Thankfully this is not the case with the Satchurator, meaning all your riffs will still be completely audible, and vintage tones are not out of the question. If you need to crank up the distortion for that killer solo, the "more" button does just what you'd expect, kicking the distortion into overdrive until your foot tells it to stop. The Satchurator is the ideal pedal for those just getting into effects, and masters of distortion like Satriani himself.

The Vox Time Machine

The Time Machine is the second pedal in the Satriani line of Vox products. At it's core, this is a delay pedal. However, it is unlinke any delay pedal you have likely used in the past. Once again the key here is customizablity. The two main modes this pedal operates on are "modern" and "vintage". The modern mode is much like a standard delay pedal, simply mirroring the original tone played by the user. However, that's not all it can do. The delay time is fully adjustable, from 30ms to six seconds of delay. There is also a Hi-Fi/Lo-Fi switch, which can be used to add to the variety of tones this pedal pumps out. The Hi-Fi mode provides a pure sound, with litte or no distortion. The Lo-Fi mode spits out a richer tone. When set to Vintage mode, the Time Machine ups the distortion, and the result is a more fleshed out, warm, almost accoustic tone. This pedal also has several other features, however i've only owned it for about a week so i can't comment much on what they do since i am still playing around with it trying to figure that out.
