Program Overview

Digital Media Design program provides intensive training for individuals pursuing a career in a wide variety of industries utilizing interactive media. From Web design and CD-ROM development, to accompanying media forms such as video and animation, our graduates are respected for the breadth of their knowledge and abilities.

Through solid theory and extensive practice, students are given the sort of hands-on experience employers are looking for. Combining Interactive Authoring with Applied Graphics, 3D Modeling & Animation, Digital Audio & Video, Design Concepts and rounding it all out with business and communications skills typically required of industry professionals, this program garners frequent praise from leading producers in the Edmonton area.

The world of communications is evolving rapidly. The effects of this evolution are evidenced throughout our society as conventional media forms embrace newer and more effective ways of communicating. Being able to implement the technology appropriately, in increasingly dynamic and stimulating ways, is important to our students and staff. Serving industry by providing professional and creative technicians is our mandate.

Schedule

The program length under the new diploma format is two 16-week semesters (September through April) followed by the second year of the program at two 16-week semesters (September through April).
Venue: HP Centre for Information & Communications Technology.

Note: The 4th semester will be a work practicum where the student will be working for a company at their place of business.
